“They deserved nothing”…

Ah, comments in the heat of the moment. Lovely stuff.

Here’s your highlights. Enjoy them while NetResult/UEFA/Lord of the Interwebs allows you to.

Highlights of the first half, including Whelan’s belter, and then Camoranesi’s header. Also includes a few Italian moments from the second half. Italian man on YouTube took down Saint Sean St. Ledger’s headed goal in the 87th minute, I’ll try and find a video of that tomorrow, but Italian man decided to keep his video of Alberto Gilardino’s late equaliser.

I’m gonna give this until tomorrow night before I give anything approaching a balanced and fair appraisal of the match, the adrenaline is still coursing through the veins. I’m so proud though, I know that for sure.

What did you lot make of it. Ireland fans, Italy fans, I want opinions, I want a bit of debate, something to talk about in my write-up. Who’s your man of the match? How did you think we played? Do you honestly think Italy are that bad? What about our chances in the play-offs? What about your chances in the finals? What the hell happened in Nicosia? Give us something to write about.

I’ll catch up with you lot tomorrow. For now, I think bed. Emotionally drained…some night.

How does this play out for the game against Montenegro? What happens when Ireland wins loses or draws?

McGeady was my man till he was taken off, not sure why he was subbed. Otherwise one of the defenders who be my pick for MOM. I can’t say who, my stream sucked for the second half and I could not tell who was who.

I thought Ireland looked great. The first 15 minutes was world class. I am surprised how much long ball they went to as the game went on. Ireland looked a little week in the middle as Italy started to play better.

Italy did not play that well at all but are a great team to have come back twice. What pisses me off about Italy is the selection of players. If Italy had Cassano working with Pirlo they would shred most any defence.

Speaking of Cassano and not being called up, what is up with Stephen Ireland?

FORZA AZZURRI NEL AFRICA DEL SUD!!! ANYYYWAYZZZ as an azzuri fan i must give the honest opinion that we are not fielding our best possible squad but we still should have won regardless but when the match started (from what ive seen) is that Ireland should have one if it werent for the sloppiest deffending that side of the World…Cant complain(For the next few days anyways) but Lippi needs to field Cassano, Pazzini and Miccoli not Quinta Gilar, and Pirlo, look up some Miccoli and Cassano highlight reels and i shit you not, you will shit your self

I know this is inexcusably late but hey.

Italy desperately needs a creative force to match wits with Pirlo and connect with the forwards. But once again, we see the Azzurri still maintain a solid mental side to them. That was a tough draw against a very motivated Ireland side.

Ireland has always given Italy a run for their money and it’s fun to watch the two sides.

Good luck against France.
